G Entertainment Increases Stake In 42nd Street
G Entertainment Group Plc is delighted to announce that it invested a further £800,000 in the new West End production of 42nd Street during March.
The new multi-million pound stage show which previews this month has already had considerable pre-bookings.
G Entertainment put £600,000 in to production on March 2nd and a further £200,000 on March 16th.
These latest investment brings the company’s total stake in the show to £1.3 million which is equivalent to 21.67 per cent, having already invested £500,000 in September, last year.
The spectacular revival of the musical will star singer Sheena Easton and play in London’s world-famous Theatre Royal Hotel, in Drury Lane.
Old favourite songs like ‘We’re In The Money’, ‘Lullaby Of Broadway’, ‘I Only Have Eyes For You,’ and, of course, ‘42nd Street’ will feature alongside newly penned numbers.
The production boasts the largest ever cast for 42nd Street, with more than forty dancers belting out the opening tap number. There is also a twenty-piece band which will be the largest on a London stage.
Spectacular costumes filled with sequins, feathers and beads will be complemented by a back-drop of traditional painted scenery in a nod to a bygone age of dance shows.
Brooke Greville, CEO said: ‘Based on the pre-bookings for the show, the board of directors decided to increase our stake in 42nd Street.
‘We believe that the show will create profit for our shareholders and quickly create a good source of immediate added cash flow for our company.
‘It’s a great honour to be involved in such a world-renowned show with its rich history and proven pedigree.’
